Culture

You have got to love this country over Easter recently there was a news report on a "chippy" (take away food shop) that was selling deep fried Easter eggs.

Now I always thought that Australia is fairly liberal in its attitudes for example TV shows that can only be shown on cable in the U.S. are shown on free to air in Oz but we cannot hold a candle to the U.K> one example of this is the television guide http://www.zooweekly.co.uk/nav?page=zooweekly Yes it does have more breasts flashed than most soft core porn mag's and of course it is only read for the articles (well telly guide anyway) and strangely enough this is the truth here is an example from the TV guide
"The wedding planner 9.00 channel 4
(rated two stars out of five)
A woman is swept off her feet by a dashing doctor, blah, blah, blah...Romantic comedy, which is only worth watching for leading lady J-lo's most prized asset. Or assets if you count both cheeks as separate entities"
But I can only state that new heights (or depths depending on your viewpoint) have been reached with there latest contest http://www.assessmybreasts.com/
the name says it all.
Here are a couple of more links for the night shift crowd

Spring has Sprung

Just an update the leaves are budding the cherry blossoms are out and its still BLOODY COLD !!!

Today Sydney (the car - Gail named it) had a few dramas today firstly we had a flat and though I successfully changed it (yes all by my lonesome) our spare which is the original supplied with the car and all I can say is what a joke I have seen bigger tires on mountain bikes it was half the width of the rest of the tires and marked all over do not exceed 30 to 50 mph so we immediately went to the garage who replaces the tire (50 pounds) and while changing it they discovered that the brakes had completely worn through (yes I had them show me the damage and it was real sadly enough) so 199 pounds later we are back on the road and to top it all off some little NED stole our aerial !!!

I don't like Easter

Arran

Over the weekend we went back to the island of Arran the weather was great as was the time we had I think this one picture sums up our stay

Now continuing on with my series about Scotland copying Australia's landmarks here is the Scottish version of Ullaroo

Just off Arran is Holy Isle

The island has only one building a Buddhist monastery you occasional see the monks in town (I thought this would interest you Andrew). They have open weekends there but I don't think anyone I know would be interested 1st rule no alcohol
